DJ Falcon - Together

Hello everyone,

DJ Falcon has released his first EP (on Roulé, Thomas Bangalter's label) and produced a remix of Cassius's "La Mouche" who is an all-time classic now.
In 2000, he started working with Thomas Bangalter on a track called "Together". And the rest is history.
The intro speech ("A time has come to make a decision. Are we in this thing alone or are we in it together?") is spoken by J.T. Walsh and taken from the movie "Pleasantville"

P.S : It seems that Blogger has some issues and I can't comment on some blogs and I can't see my followers, if anyone as a solution, he is welcome !

Alan Braxe & Fred Falke - Intro

Hello everyone,

To continue with French Touch classics, I couldn't resist the urge to pick a track from Alan Braxe & Fred Falke.
Alain Quême also known as Alan Braxe (who was part of the band Stardust I already mentioned) is the cousin of DJ Falcon, a member of the Daft Crew. He founded the Vulture Music label.
He is widely known for his collaborative work with electronic bassist and composer Fred Falke.

This collaboration lead to their first record named Intro, which sampled The Jets 1987 hit Crush On You, and was released in 2000 on Vulture Music.
This track is a classic ! And I didn't find a video with a sexy dance today, sorry :(

Thomas Bangalter - Club Soda

Hey guys,

Today, I'll talk a bit of Thomas Bangalter who is part of the duo Daft Punk with Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo. For me, he is one of the best contempary house producers (he's my favourite okay)
Before the Daft Punk phenomenom, Thomas Bangalter released the two very famous EP's 'Trax On Da Rocks', a composite of 10 tracks with various samples set to funky House and Techno beats.
Part of Stardust, he released 'Music Sounds Better With You' on his own label, Roulé.

In October 1998, the awaited Trax On Da Rocks Vol 2 (Roulé 306)  produced in the Daft House in Paris is released and Club Soda is the first title of the volume, it's a refreshing tune !

Hope you like the dance too ;)

Jess & Crabbe - F9 Riot Squad

Hey !

I see that you liked yesterday's video so I will continue today with another video you might like too.

Jean-Sebastien Bernard & Pascal Esposito A.K.A Jess & Crabbe are very versatile and explored a lot of music genres since the late 80s.
But in 1996 the Daft Punk album's (Homework) influence is predominant and house music cross their path (Crabbe has been featured on Daft's album track 'Oh yeah')
They decide with some friends to share this passion for House flirting with Techno, organising a lot of parties and a radio show.
In 1998 Jess and Crabbe did their first step in making music sampling and sequencing everything they could find interesting enough.
It's only in 1999 that F9 Riot Squad is released on their label Fiat Lux, this track is for me their greatest and this is my favourite bassline EVER so I had to make you guys discover it !

You might as well like the video, that girl dances like a goddess !

Demon - You Are My High

Ahhhhhh, you are my high...

This videoclip has always fascinated me, since it was released in 2000.
Demon has printed his name in the French Touch history with this track and this video who had a huge impact on my generation because it shows the hottest French Kiss ever during 3 minutes !
This house major hit was released on Demon's label "DemonRecords 2000st" and You Are My High is a cover of The Gap Band !

Cassius - Cassius 1999

Hi there,

Zdar and Boom Bass started working together in 1988 in Paris and they only released their first single "Cassius 1999" in January 1999 which became a mainstream hit. It entered directly the UK Top 40 chart at number seven. Their debut album, 1999, which had two more singles in it, "Feeling For You" and "La Mouche" had a great impact on the public and Cassius is considered as pioneers of the French Touch nowadays.

Etienne de Crécy - Prix Choc

Today I'm going to talk about Etienne de Crécy, a frenchman from Versailles who is a close friend and grew knowing people like Alex Gopher, Air, Cassius ... etc.
He is also a pioneer in French house music and in 1996, he did a compilation named Super Discount with his close friend, this "concept album" is a gem and I recommend it to you because all tracks are great !

200000 pieces of this album were sold all around the world.
Prix Choc is one of the greatest track of the album. I still remember the lyrics perfectly "Sinsemilia, Marijuana, Sinsemilia, Marijuana... etc"
Quite easy to remember, huh ?

Modjo "Lady"

hello everyone,

Today I'm going to talk about a house hit that was created in 2000.
Romain Tranchart and Yann Destagnol are the duo Modjo who has known a great success thanks to their first hit Lady and then with a second hit called Chillin.

With Lady, the recipee is simple : a great guitar sample from the group Chic "Soup for One" and very inspired bassline and with Romain Tranchart's amazing vocal as always !
